Subparts S & K
This is a 4-level course. It's designed for electrical personnel who work on or near electrical parts that operate anywhere from 50 to over 600 volts to ground.
Level 1 Course:
This is a 4-contact-hour lecture. Those employees whose work may expose them to the hazard of being near or exposed to electrical parts that operate at 50 volts or more to ground will benefit from this course.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to do the following:
- Describe the Hazards of Electricity
- Identify Safe Work Practices Related to the Work of Level 1 Personnel

- State Safe Work Clearances for Level 1 Personnel
- Explain the Proper Use of GFCIS

Level 2 Course:
This is an 8-contact-hour lecture. Employees who perform mechanical work on or near exposed electrical parts and perform only like-for-like substitution of electrical devices that operates at 50 volts or more to ground need this class.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to do the following:
- Meet the Objectives of the Level 1 Course
- Explain the 6 Requirements for an Electrical Lockout/Tagout
- Explain the Use of Protective Equipment

- State Safe Work Clearances for Level 2 Personnel
- Identify Safe Work Practices Related to the Work of Level 2 Personnel

Level 3 Course:
The level 3 course is a 20-contact-hour lecture. It's ideal for employees who perform electrical work on or near exposed electrical parts that operate at 50 volts or more to ground but not exceeding 600 volts nominal.

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to do the following:

- Understand Recent Changes in the NFPA 70 - NEC
- Requirements for Employee Workplaces
- Identify Safe Work Practices Related to the Work of Level 3 Personnel

- Understand Recent Changes in NFPA 70B - Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance
- Review Recent Changes in NFPA 70E - Standard for Electrical Safety

Level 4 Course:
This is a 24-contact-hour lecture course. Employees who work on or near exposed electrical parts operating at over 600 volts will especially benefit from this course.

- State Safe Work Clearances for Voltages over 600 Volts
